The assumption that all postscript printers are affected by this bug
cannot be substantiated. Mine is not, for example. The CUPS package is
presumably still working for inkjet users. Indeed, printing is still
operative for you, admittedly in a way which may be non-optimal. It is
evident that the bug having a severity of Grave is not appropriate.

I am fine with that in general. I'd have reduced the severity myself but
I wanted to wait until at least one of the cups maintainers showed up
AND for user reports that changing the driver to some generic PS driver
does indeed fix the issue (sort of) for them as well.
So let's see what the maintainers have to say about this issue... if
they feel like responding eventually. ;)
