retitle 607289 New upstream version available 4.4.4 severity 607289 grave thanks
The Gnuplot package has NOT been maintained in nearly a year and half! I'm dialing up the severity of this bug. Several packages like Octave, maxima, fityk, etc to name a few depend on this package. Version 4.6 is not far off either. It will be release next month. This newer version could make it into wheezy. Please, an update is required!
