Like it or not, I don't understand why should the issue you complained
about four years ago, against a package that didn't use po4a at this
time, should now magically apply to po4a. Please provide some facts or a
simple test file in order to reproduce it: there is no valid reason to
arbitrary reassign a bug to an unrelated package without a minimum
investigation.

Why didn't you you look yourself? The German translation is very
outdated in the package, and the “lang” attribute is not even translated…

The attached manpage is built once actually translated the accurate tag:

# type: Attribute 'lang' of: <book>
#. type: Attribute 'lang' of: <book>
#: en/aptitude.xml:143
msgid "en"
msgstr "de"
        ^^

As you can see by yourself “AUTOR” is perfectly translated, and the
„German style“ quote are used, so after actually digging a bit, I can
confirm that this non issue is “just” an outdated translation one, and I
have trouble to understand why one would want to keep such a bug open,
#603589 should fix the problem…

Reassign it back to aptitude and forcemerge it with 603589 if that makes
you happy.

Regards

David
