severity 638360 wishlist close 638360 thanks I'm afraid that I concur with upstream and the other Debian maintainers for curl. This enhancement request should be discussed upstream.
In particular, I agree with upstream's very reasonable comments: If you still think this is good stuff for libcurl, then I would like to see that you motivate and explain your patch and reasoning on the curl-library list so that we can discuss pros and cons and see what others think and how to proceed. (The patch also lacks documentation and test cases.) We do not intend to apply this patch in the Debian package as we don't agree that it's helpful.
