Please could you clarify what you mean here.  What do you mean by "in
Gutenprint"?  There is no Gutenprint program or binary package in
Debian; it's a driver which the user never sees except through another
program's interface.  Which program were you using?  Which package was
this installed from?

Additionally, hplip/hpijs is a separate driver, completely unrelated
to gutenprint.  If you are using this PPD, you are not using
Gutenprint (at least for your CUPS configuration).

I'm afraid I don't follow.  Please describe *exactly* which programs
you are using, and your exact printer setup.  Feel free to attach
configuration files and screenshots if they help illustrate this.
Without an understandable explanation of the problem, it's hard to
diagnose what's wrong.
