Subject: latex2html: known bugfixes not included
Package: latex2html
Version: 2008-debian1-5
Severity: important

*** Please type your report below this line ***

The version of latex2html included in this package seems to be still based
on the early official version of latex2html, which is no longer maintained.
This version has several known bugs with respect to the rendering of
formulas. Fixes for these bugs have been provided by Julius O. Smith III
<http://ccrma.stanford.edu/~jos/> in the form of an "l2h forklet". The
patched code is available through
<http://ccrma.stanford.edu/~jos/webpub/latex2html-2009-1.tar.gz> and an
explanation for creating this forklet is provided at
<http://ccrma.stanford.edu/~jos/webpub/Why_Fork_LaTeX2HTML_Distribution.html>.
I suggest that this patched code is made the basis of future versions of the
package.
