lightdm-gtk-greeter doesn't install a lightdm.conf but its postinst calls lightdm-set-default to set there the currently selected greeter (which is gtk here since it's the only one available). It'd help if you could show us the file diff to check if this is the case. Regards, -- Yves-Alexis
