And I considered that. Tried to weigh the waste of disk space vs. retaining the .old file as means of "easily" determining when (and even what components) of the base-chroot was modified.

Of course, it was easier to not remove it, since doing so would have required me to google the syntax for removing a file with python. os.unlink(). Good; I learned something else today.

And what is that Larry Wall saying about lazy programmers ?
