Sorry about this. The upstream Makefiles are suppose to remove this cruft - debian/rules clean calls debian/rules distclean, but for reasons I don't understand it doesn't always work. However it seemed to work fine for this version before squeeze was released. Go figure.... If this is not acceptable, I can upload a new version that has an expanded clean section in debian/rules - would this be OK?
