Just to clarify: /etc/modules-load.d/modules.conf is a symlink to /etc/modules > acerhdf kernelmode=1 fanon=60000 fanoff=54000 My guess is, that it is due to the additional options. Could you try using "acerhdf" alone and see if the module is loaded then?
