Yes, I was jet-lagged :) For Bio::Samtools, it is enough to override dh_auto_configure with “SAMTOOLS=/usr/include/samtools dh_auto_configure”, so perhaps we do not need to bother usptream. I will double-check if uploading would not perturbate the Perl 5.12 transition.
