For the most part, the problem occurs in gnome-terminal with
random artifacts (greyish shadows) on a small patch of the screen, at
other times it looks like one line of text is overwriting the other one.
Sometimes this occurs when typing in text in the browser (iceweasel).
My xserver is Version: 2:2.14.0-4, and I let it configure itself
for the most part (only 'FontPath "unix/:7100" to pick up X font
server). The video adapter is:
VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)
I too would be willing to help debug this problem, it gets pretty
annoying.
