If you happen to know of a version before 10.0.648.204~r79063-1 that worked or a version after 7.0.544.0~r61416-1 that was broken (e.g. /var/log/aptitude and /var/log/dpkg.log can be useful for finding what was installed on a given day), I'd still be interested. Similarly, if you know of a reproducible recipe for triggering the problem with the version in squeeze, that would still be very useful. Thanks for writing.
