i'd be happy to sponsor it for you if the other DD maintainers don't have the time for it, however, please make sure the package is lintian clean. also, since the package does bump the soname (and therefore will need a transition handled for migrating to testing at some point), you should make the first upload for it to experimental (and while it's rotting in NEW), coordinating a transition with the release team.
