Hi Paul,

with network-manager 0.8.x from squeeze and sid, hal was replaced by udev and
modems are controlled by modem-manager. Your bug therefore is not directly
applicable anymore to the current version so I'd like to know if you can still
reproduce the issue on a up-to-date squeeze or sid system
