Hello Andres, I am well aware of Geant4 ;-)
It is not a drop-in replacement for GEANT 3.21 (indeed, it differs in every way but the name). Strictly speaking you should have filed this request for Geant4 as an RFP (Request for Packaging) bug against the wnpp pseudo-package, but it wouldn't have done any good; please see below. There are unofficial Debian packages of Geant4 available (originally authored by me, now maintained by others). Please see: http://wiki.debian.org/DebianScience/Geant4 http://lcg-heppkg.web.cern.ch/lcg-heppkg/debian/index.html Official packages are not currently possible because Geant4 has a dependency on CLHEP, whose upstream never properly licensed it, so that CLHEP is undistributable except by permission of the authors (despite numerous requests over the years). best regards, -- Kevin B.
