I just wanted to add that I agree this would be a nice feature, if
Aqualung could be made to reconnect to jackd automatically, and I
presume playback would be paused whilst disconnected. I'm also copying
this to the Aqualung developers' mailing list.

Where this would be most useful to me, is that I'm trying to put my
desktop PC into 'suspend' mode more often, perhaps automatically when
idle, to reduce power consumption through the day. My sound card (Delta
1010 / ice1712) is awkward, in that I have to stop jackd and unload its
kernel module before going into suspend mode, then reload both after
resuming. Scripts I've added to /etc/apm do this for me automatically.

Therefore, it's useful from my viewpoint if all JACK clients can cope
with jackd restarting. Aqualung is the only one I experience a problem
with -- I have to quit and restart it, and I lose the playback position
within a song -- which may seem silly, but I find that to be a nuisance,
sometimes enough to discourage me from putting the machine into standby.

Thanks,
Regards,
