How about making the mapping in the changelog by stylized changelog entries:

    * Email change: ans...@43-1.org -> ans...@debian.org

This has the advantage of being self-docmenting and could be turned on by an option in ~/.dh-make-perl/dh-make-perl.conf. However it has a disadvantage that on ascension the developer has to do all his projects. I say "has to" but actually I intend to test whether it is compulsory.

1.) Using the pkg-perl option would make dh-make-perl use the
default mapping, say /etc/dh-make-perl/emails.lst .

setting that would specify a different mapping which would be useful
for other users.
Hm, sounds interesting.

I guess there would be a question over whether we want to distribute
the mapping file so as to not encourage spam, but rather I thought
the damage was done in that regard.
It should probably on an opt-in base anyway.

Another thought that crossed my mind:
The problem usually arises when dh-make-perl's refresh recreates the
list by parsing the changelog entries and thereby overwrites already
updated email addresses. Maybe most of the troubles could be solved
by addressing this issue, i.e. keep names from old d/copyright and
compare them to the search result in some way?
