That looks like a Poppler-specific change, not an Xpdf change.  I.e.,
it's not something in the Xpdf code that I've released.

I wonder if it would be useful to use a different name for that version
of Xpdf -- so that bug reports get sent to the right place.  I don't
mind getting bug reports for the code I've written, but I can't be of
much help with bugs in Poppler.
