Have you tried with the ICM files upstream provides? You should download them with the 'getweb' script: # getweb 3175 Then, if nothing changes, please also try moving the ICM files from the foo2zjs folder to the foo2qpdl one: # mv /usr/share/foo2zjs/icm/samclp3* /usr/share/foo2qpdl/icm/ In the current Debian package (version 20090908dfsg-4), the 'getweb' script puts all ICM files into /usr/share/foo2zjs/icm/. The same script From the Ubuntu package, however, splits them in the correct folder, something I am integrating in Debian as well. > I've compared these printouts to what Samsung's proprietary Linux > driver produces. Those printouts don't have the described problems. That is good to know. Do you have any Samsung's ICM that you can try with foo2zjs? However, I am not sure Samsung's ICM will work... > Ghostscript version 8.71. This should be OK, according to upstream INSTALL file: --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- GHOSTSCRIPT BUGS ---------------- * ghostscript 8.64 is broken w.r.t. color. Don't use! * Well Tempered Screening (WTS) works with ghostscript 8.54 thru 8.70+. So if you want BEST COLORS, you'll have to install gs 8.54 or better if you don't have it. So don't select that one. --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8--- > I know this bug report probably doesn't help much. I have never used such files (I own only an HP Color LaserJet 1500L, now broken), but you should simply copy the upstream QPDL files from foo2zjs/crd/qpdl/* into /usr/share/foo2qpdl/crd/. NB, these files were removed from the Debian package because their license is unclear, thus we can not distribute them. Obviously, you can also try to use the QPDL files from Samsung's proprietary Linux driver. Finally, there is a new updated package, with a lot of improvements and more synchronized with the Ubuntu package (but it still misses the split for files downloaded via the 'getweb' script): http://bugs.debian.org/594322 http://people.debian.org/~gismo/tmp/ If you can try this new package, please let me know first if it works and then if anything changes. Thx, bye, Gismo / Luca
