I can confirm this bug on KDE 4.4.5 which is going to be released with 
Squeeze. I'm upgrading severity based on the fact that #574784 [1] has been 
serious all this time (so the same justification applies to this bug too). 
Even more, this bug is way more worse, because current xdg-email is barely 
usable under KDE. None of its options seem to work except mailto-uri.
