Package: puppet Version: 2.6.0-2 Severity: normal Puppet standalone is broken 2.6 release. Reproducable: always. Any files create via source files can not be created by puppet. For example if your try something like:
file { "/root/blablubb": source => "puppet:///modules/blablubb/mysource.txt", } Puppet apply will fail. This is already reported in various bug reports of the puppet project and it is claimed to be fixed in 2.6.1. With puppet apply not working half of the functunality of this package is broken in my eyes. Many people rely on this feature for debootsrapping the whole setup. Setting up a virtual machine host manually is not funny if you know you do have the appropriate recipie but puppet is broken and you cant use it. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages puppet depends on: ii adduser 3.112 add and remove users and groups ii facter 1.5.7-1 a library for retrieving facts fro pn libopenssl-ruby <none> (no description available) ii libruby [libxmlrpc-ruby] 4.5 Libraries necessary to run Ruby 1. ii libshadow-ruby1.8 1.4.1-8 Interface of shadow password for R ii lsb-base 3.2-23.1 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip ii puppet-common 2.6.0-2 Centralized configuration manageme ii ruby1.8 1.8.7.302-1 Interpreter of object-oriented scr Versions of packages puppet recommends: ii libaugeas-ruby1.8 0.3.0-1.1 Augeas bindings for the Ruby langu ii ruby [rdoc] 4.5 An interpreter of object-oriented Versions of packages puppet suggests: pn libselinux-ruby1.8 <none> (no description available) ii puppet-el 2.6.0-2 syntax highlighting for puppet man pn vim-puppet <none> (no description available) -- Configuration Files: /etc/default/puppet changed [not included] -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
