Package: dpkg-dev Version: 1.13.10 Severity: wishlist The manual page of dpkg-buildpackage(1), which is same a dpkg-source's, reads:
-b Build: pack up a source tree. One or two non-option arguments should be supplied. The first is taken as the name of the directory containing the unpacked source tree. If a second argument is supplied it should be the name of the original source directory or tarfile or the empty string if the package is a Debian-specific one and so has no Debianisation diffs. ... IT is not entirely clear what the first argument should be. From phrase "the unpacked source tree" it is not clean that the tree can include /debian etc. other user changes. Phrase it in more explicit manner like: -b Build: pack up a source tree. One or two non-option arguments should be supplied. The first is taken as the name of the + directory containing the unpacked source tree with user's + modifications and included <tree>/debian directory. If a second argument is supplied it should be the name of the original source directory or tarfile or the empty string if the package Jari -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.11-1-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ISO-8859-1) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US) Versions of packages dpkg-dev depends on: ii binutils 2.16.1-2 The GNU assembler, linker and bina ii cpio 2.6-3 GNU cpio -- a program to manage ar ii dpkg 1.13.10 Package maintenance system for Deb ii make 3.80-11 The GNU version of the "make" util ii patch 2.5.9-2 Apply a diff file to an original ii perl [perl5] 5.8.7-4 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii perl-modules 5.8.7-4 Core Perl modules Versions of packages dpkg-dev recommends: ii bzip2 1.0.2-8 high-quality block-sorting file co ii gcc [c-compiler] 4:4.0.1-3 The GNU C compiler ii gcc-2.95 [c-compiler] 1:2.95.4-22 The GNU C compiler ii gcc-3.3 [c-compiler] 1:3.3.6-8 The GNU C compiler ii gcc-4.0 [c-compiler] 4.0.1-4 The GNU C compiler ii tcc [c-compiler] 0.9.23-1 The smallest ANSI C compiler -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
