I share your concern regarding the package size. Although it is unfortunate
that the upstream cease to support introspection, it solves the problem. The 
general problem is that
C++ templating can generates massive amount of codes which leads to huge 
libraries, unrelated to the
code complexity. However, addressing the fundamental reason why C++ has such a 
poor ratio
complexity versus binary size is off topic ;-)
