Package: ivtools-bin Version: 1.1.3-4 Severity: wishlist The package ivtools-bin contains a couple of executables that have been given the prefix iv-, presumably to help avoid name clashes. One of the binaries that hasn't is /usr/X11R6/bin/dclock. Unfortunately, there's another package in Debian that contains an executable with that name - "http://packages.debian.org/dclock"!
There's no direct file conflict, since dclock's dclock is /usr/bin/dclock; but installing ivtools-bin can put the wrong dclock first on my path (and manpath), so it would be a good idea if one or the other was renamed. Renaming the dclock in dclock seems like a non-starter, while renaming your version as ivdclock would work nicely. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 Architecture: i386 (i586) Kernel: Linux 2.6.11.hurakan Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages ivtools-bin depends on: ii ivtools-interviews 1.1.3-4 C++ GUI library with Motif Look an ii ivtools-unidraw 1.1.3-4 Application Frameworks layered on ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libjpeg62 6b-10 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.5-13 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libtiff4 3.7.2-3 Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu ii xterm [x-terminal-emul 4.3.0.dfsg.1-14 X terminal emulator ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4.sarge.2 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- JBR Ankh kak!
