I've included the file information below, but max_brightness is 15, and from X, nothing happens after either an "echo 1 > brighness" or an "echo 15 > brightness". From the console, both of those commands do what I'd expect. Perhaps it's an nvidia problem. (AFAIK, I can't run nouveau on this machine yet.) $ find /sys/class/backlight -ls 213 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Aug 4 18:25 /sys/class/backlight 9974 0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Aug 4 18:25 /sys/class/backlight/mbp_backlight -> ../../devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight $ find /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight -ls 9971 0 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 0 Aug 4 18:25 /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight 9972 0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Aug 4 18:25 /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight/uevent 9973 0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Aug 4 18:25 /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight/subsystem -> ../../../../class/backlight 9975 0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Aug 4 19:59 /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight/bl_power 9976 0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Aug 4 18:25 /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight/brightness 9977 0 -r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Aug 4 18:25 /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight/actual_brightness 9978 0 -r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Aug 4 19:59 /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight/max_brightness 9979 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Aug 4 19:59 /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight/power 9980 0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 Aug 4 20:00 /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/mbp_backlight/power/wakeup Thanks -- Rob Browning rlb @defaultvalue.org and @debian.org GPG as of 2002-11-03 14DD 432F AE39 534D B592 F9A0 25C8 D377 8C7E 73A4 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
