reassign 542846 ftp.debian.org
retitle 542846 RM: reseed -- ROM; potential security issues, depends on sketchy
service which discourages its own use
thanks

For those just joining us:

There are no reverse dependencies.

reseed's removal has been proposed in the BTS for a year, it has a
series of other problems, and nobody can think of a compelling reason to
keep it. I maintained this once because I was once under the impression
that it was useful for the Hurd. There are better alternatives today and
may have been at the time I adopted (or packaged it -- I can't remember)
as well. :)

I think the answer to the submitter's quesiton is "No." It's been almost
a year since removal was suggested and nobody has objected. The package
is crufty, connects to insecure service, and raises non-free network
services issues. Let's rid ourselves of it.

Thanks! But no thanks. :)
