I've just tried removing .pida2. It gets to the dialog where I select Vim, and then it hangs with a "pida is starting, bla bla" in a little window without decorations. So it's the same as before. Note that I have vim-nox installed (though I had vim-gtk when I first reported this bug IIRC).
