Package: recoll Version: 1.13.04-3 Severity: wishlist
Recoll currently uses antiword and catdoc for MS Word documents. Antiword claims to only support Word 2003 (according to the website) or lower, and catdoc only to Word 97 (according to the Debian package info). Unoconv claims to be able to support any documents that OO.org supports, so it should cover modern Word formats not covered by the current utilities. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.35-rc2-lizzie-00131-g7908a9e Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages recoll depends on: ii libc6 2.11.2-2 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libgcc1 1:4.4.4-6 GCC support library ii libqt4-qt3support 4:4.6.3-1 Qt 3 compatibility library for Qt ii libqtcore4 4:4.6.3-1 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4:4.6.3-1 Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++6 4.4.4-6 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.3.3-3 X11 client-side library ii libxapian15 1.0.20-2 Search engine library ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Versions of packages recoll recommends: ii aspell 0.60.6-4 GNU Aspell spell-checker ii python 2.6.5-5 An interactive high-level object-o Versions of packages recoll suggests: ii antiword 0.37-6 Converts MS Word files to text, PS pn catdoc <none> (no description available) ii flac 1.2.1-2+b1 Free Lossless Audio Codec - comman ii ghostscript 8.71~dfsg2-3 The GPL Ghostscript PostScript/PDF pn libid3-tools <none> (no description available) pn libimage-exiftool-perl <none> (no description available) pn lyx <none> (no description available) ii poppler-utils 0.12.4-1 PDF utilitites (based on libpopple pn pstotext <none> (no description available) pn python-chm <none> (no description available) ii unrtf 0.19.3-1.1 RTF to other formats converter pn untex <none> (no description available) ii vorbis-tools 1.4.0-1 several Ogg Vorbis tools -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
