Peter, while I completely agree with you on the autoload cookies for eproject-extras.el - are you sure about the same thing being necessary for eproject.el? After all it registers hooks for file-find, so you won't be delaying the loading much anyway.
Also, with a patch I wrote and John already agreed to accept, even tho it's not merged yet, eproject.el will also register a hook for major mode changes, basically causing it to be loaded right away when starting emacs, even with autoload. -- BOFH excuse #332: suboptimal routing experience
