retitle 582810 "/usr/lib/debug path is not searched for vmlinux-`uname -r`" reassign 582810 elfutils thanks
Hi, I think this is an elfutils bug. > 2) Debian BTS #582810 has been re-assigned back as a systemtap > problem. Debian is shipping the vmlinux-`uname -r` image into > /usr/lib/debug/. It is elfutils that contains detailed vmlinux search logic, and Roland McGrath is happy to take patches (elfutils dwfl/linux-kernel-modules.c). Systemtap can also set directory search paths for elfutils (*DEBUGINFO_PATH), but if the file is named something other than vmlinux, that's not quite enough. - FChE On Monday 24 May 2010 02:13:24 Ben Hutchings wrote: > On Mon, 2010-05-24 at 01:45 +0530, Ritesh Raj Sarraf wrote: > > Package: linux-2.6 > > Severity: normal > > > > Hi, > > > > The systemtap tool, when executed, searches for the vmlinux image in > > /boot/.
