I've been keeping the empty packages around for the sake of clustalx, which still has versioned dependencies on them, at least on i386, and suffers from some additional complications -- as a non-free package, it doesn't get autobuilt, and its maintainer is not yet a DD and therefore needs sponsorship for uploads.
