Can you reproduce if you use a new thunderbird profile (e.g. with a new linux user or through the profile maanger)? If yes, go ahead: I cannot reproduce this. The mail is fine for me. Please make a backtrace with gdb. Use sh /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/run-mozilla.sh /usr/bin/gdb \ /usr/lib/mozilla-thunderbird/mozilla-thunderbird-bin (gdb) run ... crash (gdb) bt ... <backtrace> to gather it for now.
