OK, I made the bug less severe by doing the following things: 1) apt-get remove --purge mozilla-thunderbird 2) rm -rf /etc/mozilla-thunderbird 3) rm -rf ~user_name/.mozilla-thunderbird 4) aptitude install mozilla-thunderbird mozilla-thunderbird-offline mozilla-thunderbird-typeaheadfind mozilla-thunderbird-inspector mozilla-firefox ttf-bitstream-vera ttf-freefont mozilla-thunderbird-enigmail After recreating my profile, now I only get bad rendering of the really long subject names. Thunderbird no longer crashes, but the subject will wrap on top of itself, or sometimes appear as a solid black box, or sometimes appear as blue lines that look like a bar-code. This makes me suspect it is some kind of font issue. This computer was first setup with pre-sarge testing, and when sarge was released migrated to stable (but, between first setup and migration, many updates were applied resulting in who-knows-what state of the system). I have, however, reproduced this problem on other machines. I also wonder if the fact that I am running over Xvnc instead of a 'normal' X server isn't causing or exacerbating this issue. See if you can at least re-create the mangaled fonts with the above information. Thanks, -Andy -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
