Thanks for your bug report. Can you please describe how to set up a simple GRsecurity test case to test this bug?
The only significant change in newt / whiptail since Sarge has been the move libslang1 -> libslang2. There are some test programs in libslang2-dev for libslang, in /usr/share/doc/libslang2-dev/examples. Could you run those and see if libslang2 works?
