Package: etckeeper Version: 0.43 Severity: minor When I do an
aptitude --download-only full-upgrade I get this error message ** etckeeper detected uncommitted changes in /etc prior to apt run ** Aborting apt run. Manually commit and restart. E: Problem executing scripts DPkg::Pre-Invoke 'if [ -x /usr/sbin/etckeeper ]; then etckeeper pre-install; fi' E: Sub-process returned an error code A package failed to install. Trying to recover: dpkg: status database area is locked by another process The uncommitted file is /etc/postfix/main.cf, which in my setup changes, when I go online (downloading) and back to offline (installing). This error message appears for some weeks now (sorry, can't be more precise) and did not happen before with the same setup. # grep -v '#' /etc/etckeeper/etckeeper.conf VCS="hg" AVOID_DAILY_AUTOCOMMITS=1 AVOID_COMMIT_BEFORE_INSTALL=1 HIGHLEVEL_PACKAGE_MANAGER=apt LOWLEVEL_PACKAGE_MANAGER=dpkg -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-3-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages etckeeper depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.30 Debian configuration management sy ii mercurial 1.4.1-1+b1 scalable distributed version contr Versions of packages etckeeper recommends: ii cron 3.0pl1-106 process scheduling daemon etckeeper suggests no packages. -- debconf information excluded -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
