I've the same problem, but some information to add. The bug appears in Debian version and in original source. I've seen this happens when the LDAP server is stopped (even a short time) and started (when I backup LDAP slave, the bug happens). But that doesn't lead everytime to a crash, the bug is pretty random. It's clearly a segfault, but I've also met the following message appearing in the same condition :
ldapdns: search.c:187: ldap_search: Assertion `ld != ((void *)0)' failed. Aborted So I'm working on finding that bug and patching (if I can). Etienne.
