I'm not sure we should remove the dir actually. Don't we also leave the CD image as a valid source for APT [1]? And we've now configured APT to use /media/cdrom as its dir to mount CDs. Unless we want to clean up all that too, which is defensible as it's unlikely a user would think to mount the image on /media/cdrom. And we already remove netinsts from the sources.list during finish-install.
