Package: libsane
Version: 1.0.20-14+b1

When I scan images I frequently get output that looks similar to this: http://jhstuckey.com/book-error.jpeg

It always involves a normal half and a tinted half, and athough the tinted half is not always pink it does seems to always be a bright color (like yellow or orange).

Secondly, scanning typically takes a few minutes, even if done at low resolution. When I hit scan I hear a "click", and then maybe 90 seconds later the scan-arm starts to move. Is this delay normal?

I'm using an Epson Perfection 1250. The sane packages I have installed are as follows:
rc libksane0 4:4.3.2-1
ii libsane 1.0.20-14+b1
ii libsane-extras 1.0.20.3
ii sane-utils 1.0.20-14+b1
ii xsane 0.996-3
ii xsane-common 0.996-3
