Dear cyril,

For now i've tested the latest 2.6.32.y kernel source.
I've booted up, remotely loaded i915 with modeset=1, and this came into dmesg:

After it, the screen went blank, but i can still access the computer remotely. Now I start X from ssh:

This is the last line, the computer is crashed again.

With modeset=0, loading module i915 does not change anything, the display
works, and no kernel warnings are received. Starting X:

And the machine hangs again. These are the results for now.

You've mentioned some blog, but i did not found it in your letter, or a link to it.

Dear Cyril,

Hi Richard,

I've installed linux-image-2.6.32-2-686 from sid, upgraded libdrm2
and libdrm-intel1 packages, but unfortunately nothing changed. When
I start X, the whole machine stops responding.

could you please follow the instructions outlined in the second part
of the following blog post? Trying the very last 2.6.32 kernel might
make a difference.

We would need traces of what happens anyway. The EIR stuck to 0x10 in
the initial bugreport should be solved. Please provide us with dmesg/X
logs if you can get them.

Mraw,
KiBi.
