For example, trying to run an email client is Hello, I've now checked this with gedit, iceweasel, gnome-terminal, pidgin, openoffice and the gnome calculator and I'm not seeing anything like this.
I'm also a little surprised if this is even remotely common as I've not seen any "me too" type messages. What you're seeing is quite dramatic. To debug this problem I will need more information. Is Xorg.log or the kernel printing any strange messages? Does it happen if you just install the package or only if it is subsequently rebooted? Do you have any non-default items in /etc/sysctl.conf or /etc/sysctl.d/* Can you try to install -8 package twice to see if it is a toggle on/off problem. - Craig -- Craig Small GnuPG:1C1B D893 1418 2AF4 45EE 95CB C76C E5AC 12CA DFA5 http://www.enc.com.au/ csmall at : enc.com.au http://www.debian.org/ Debian GNU/Linux, software should be Free -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
