Package: texlive-latex-recommended Severity: normal
Somewhere between Lenny and now, ucs.sty was moved from -recommended to -extra. As UTF-8 support is (I believe) a release goal, I would really like to be able to use it without installing all of -extra (which is not itself large, but with Recommends/Depends requires a 227(!) MB download to install). In particular, this move prevents pandoc from working out of the box, which I have filed separately as #571678 in case you think ucs.sty really ought to be kept in -extra. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.3 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30.5-linode20 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages texlive-latex-recommended depends on: pn tex-common <none> (no description available) pn texlive-common <none> (no description available) pn texlive-latex-base <none> (no description available) Versions of packages texlive-latex-recommended recommends: pn latex-beamer <none> (no description available) pn latex-xcolor <none> (no description available) pn prosper <none> (no description available) pn texlive-latex-recommended-doc <none> (no description available) texlive-latex-recommended suggests no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
