Package: pandoc Version: 0.46+2+b2 Severity: normal
markdown2pdf requires ucs.sty. Unfortunately, at some point texlive moved this file from -recommended to -extra. If you only install pandoc and its Recommends, you get this: $ markdown2pdf foo.text markdown2pdf: pdfLaTeX failed with error code 1 markdown2pdf: error context: ! LaTeX Error: File `ucs.sty' not found. ! Emergency stop. <read *> ! ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced! markdown2pdf: Please install the 'unicode' package from CTAN: http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/unicode/ My ideal resolution to this problem would be that the texlive maintainers are persuaded to move UTF-8 support back to -recommended, so I guess I'll file another bug for that. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.3 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30.5-linode20 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pandoc depends on: ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgmp3c2 2:4.2.2+dfsg-3 Multiprecision arithmetic library pandoc recommends no packages.
