Hello, I think the main goal of "Share My Desktop" is to share his desktop with a friend. So the friend can interact with the desktop of the user. The name of the feature is "Share my desktop" and not "Look my desktop" that's why there is no read only access. When a user takes the decision to share his desktop he knows that his friend will interact with his desktop because of the name of the feature. If you think that Share my desktop should have a read only access you should submit an "enhancement bug" for a feature "Look my desktop".
