If someone thinks, I am paranoid because of the excessive
catcode settings, then this example proves that I must be
even more paranoid.

Therefore I added more settings to \...@catcodes
(backslash, curly braces, space, tab, endline char).

pdftex.def 0.04n is available temporarily:
  http://www.informatik.uni-freiburg.de/~oberdiek/tmp/pdftex.def
CTAN update is on its way, but I had problems updating the
berlios project of pdftex.def.
