Hi, The situation with drush 2.1 is a bit uncertain at this point. The release was really broken when working with non-bash shells and didn't work in Debian squeeze or Ubuntu out of the box. I would have had to backport a few patches to make it work and never found the time.
I'm now rather considering uploading the latest 3.0-alpha1 to experimental, what do you think of this idea? 3.0-rc1, once it's released, would be the version I would push into sid and therefore the 3.0 branch would be the officially supported debian version.
