I am exactly in Martin Krüger's situation, as explained in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=563246#22.
And what's suggested in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=563246#27 (use the trick proposed in #563073) doesn't make it any better..:-) In short: I can successfully build Virtuablox modules with m-a, install it, but loading them leads to "disagrees about version of symbol module_layout" messages. This, only with 2.6.32 kernel packages and build environment. To make it worse: the last update of X.org Intel drivers lead to other kind of problems (high CPU usage) that make it impossible for me to use 2.6.30 or 3.6.31 (where my Virtualbox modules works flawlessly). --
