today I wanted to try out Sugar by installing the sucrose-0.86 package (without recommends, though, I do not want to install network-manager on my system).

The sucrose-* packages are intended to ensure a complete installation of core Sugar, so will probably have a hard dependency on network-manager in the future.

If you want to only install parts of Sugar, then install sugar-session-* instead (and sugar-emulator-* if you want to use the emulator too).

After loging out of my GNOME session and loging in to a Sugar session from GDM, I get asked for my name and a preferred color for my manikin. Immediately after this step, the session crashes. My .xsession-errors file from this short session is attached.

Please inspect/provide the logfiles below ~/.sugar/logs - they most likely contain useful hints about the cause of the crash).

Thanks for testing and reporting this!
