Hi: Sorry about the double-reply. I've taken a look, here's the changelog from 1.40 to the last version we have (1.37), which you have too:
2009-08-14 Gisle Aas <gi...@activestate.com> Release 1.40 Even stricter test for working DNS, 2nd try. [Explanation/Rationale: Tests aren't really a reason to update] 2009-08-13 Gisle Aas <gi...@activestate.com> Release 1.39 Even stricter test for working DNS, hopefully this gets rid of the rest of the heuristics.t failures. [Explanation/Rationale: Tests aren't really a reason to update] 2009-05-27 Gisle Aas <gi...@activestate.com> Release 1.38 Ville Skyttä (3): Spelling fixes. [Explanation/Rationale: documentation changes are insignificant and spelling fixes probably wouldn't even matter to users] Tatsuhiko Miyagawa (1): skip DNS test if wildcard domain catcher (e.g. OpenDNS) is there [Explanation/Rationale: Tests aren't really a reason to update] Gisle Aas (1): Avoid "Insecure $ENV{PATH} while running with -T switch" error with perl-5.6. [Explanation/Rationale: oldstable has 5.8.8; perl 5.6 isn't a problem] If you have a better rationale for upgrading the version in Debian, we'd be happy to hear it. However, given that there are a lot of issues (wasted time testing/rebuilding/uploading things), it's probably a waste. If you need the new version for a package you're building, I suggest just depending on the old version instead (there have been no feature changes since 1.37 and 1.40) On Thu, Nov 12, 2009 at 10:26 PM, Jonathan Yu <jonathan.i...@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi: > > Thanks for your report. > > On Thu, Nov 12, 2009 at 10:13 PM, Trafire Arcanegrin <trafi...@gmail.com> > wrote: >> Package: liburi-perl >> Version: 1.37+dfsg-1 >> Severity: wishlist >> >> Hello, >> Upstream has released 1.40. >> >> Please consider update it. :-) > > What has changed since the previous version?
