gnome-volume-control-applet change alsamixer volume (without manual update) Steps to reproduce: 1. killall gnome-volume-control-applet 2. open alsamixer 2.1 set Master volume to unmute, 84 2.2 set Master mono volume to unmute, 84 2.3 set PCM volume to unmute, 84 2.4 quit with <ESC> key 3. open gnome-volume-control-applet and close it with CTRL+C 4. open alsamixer alsamixer report Master = 94, Master mono = 84, PCM = 74 <-- wrong!
